Star of the Month

This month's star is Megan Carbone, an AP Biology student.

Not only is Megan a star on the track field, but she also recently started the school's first peer tutoring program.  Thanks to Megan's initiative, students will now be able to receive tutoring in Math, Science, and History.  Peer tutors will offer tutoring before and after school, as well as during lunch periods and study halls.

If you are interested in becoming a peer tutor, please contact Megan Carbone or Ms. Tayman, teaching supervisor of the peer tutoring program.  Training sessions for peer tutors will be held the first Wednesday of each month.  This is a great opportunity for future teachers!

If you are interested in receiving tutoring, sign up sheets are located in the Library, front office, or Ms. Tayman's class.

Fun Facts...

Did you know most frogs do indeed have teeth of some sort?

Most frogs have a ridge of very small cone teeth around the upper edge of the jaw called Maxillary Teeth.  They often also have teeth on the roof of their mouth called Vomerine Teeth.  Frogs do not have any "teeth" on the bottom of their jaw.

Since frogs swallow their prey whole, these teeth are used to hold prey in place while the frog prepares to swallow it.  Remember to take a look for these "teeth" during upcoming dissections.
